The Potter's Hand

Formation in the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity is a continuous process of transformation. Inspired by our patron St. Vincent de Paul, our members undergo a rigorous yet meditative journey to align their hearts with the spirit of compassionate service.

"Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand."

Stages of Growth

A structured pathway toward religious consecration

1 Month

Come and See

A one-month program for those wishing to join our congregation. Candidates get a chance to identify her vocation and come to know our way of life, charism, and apostolate.

1 Year

Aspirancy

A live-in experience for primary evaluation of the call. Candidates are helped in the discernment process through reflection, prayer, and human/Christian maturation.

2 Years

Postulancy

A stage for slow transformation to religious life, acquiring human and emotional maturity. Includes language studies and live-in experience in apostolic activities.

2 Years

Novitiate

Considered the heart of formation. A two-year period for divine vocation discernment, experiencing community life, and internalizing the congregation's spirit.

4-6 Years

Juniorate

Covers the period of temporary profession. Focuses on merging spiritual life with apostolic activity to prepare for a permanent commitment to the congregation.

Continuous

Ongoing Formation

A lifelong pilgrimage towards perfect Charity. Includes yearly seminars and courses to renew spirit and enthusiasm in relating with God and the world.
